It all began when Simon, eager to take his skills to new heights, approached Dkb’s construction manager with an ambitious goal—he wanted to become a qualified mason, accredited by the National Construction Authority (NCA) of Kenya. His bravery in pursuing growth, combined with his self-belief and ambition, immediately caught the attention of the DKB team. Simon’s boldness and humility deeply impressed the director, who was moved by his genuine desire to push beyond his limits.
Rather than simply offering him a chance, the director took a personal interest in Simon’s growth. Recognizing his potential, the director moved Simon to a more challenging project, testing him with complex tasks to gauge his skills in real-world conditions. Simon didn’t back down—he embraced every challenge, proving time and time again that his work ethic, resilience, and unrelenting drive could conquer any obstacle. He wasn’t just demonstrating technical expertise, but a passion for his craft that fueled his every action.
As Simon continually exceeded expectations, the construction manager saw his undeniable potential and recommended him to the NCA, highlighting the significant contributions Simon had made to the construction team. The NCA, recognizing Simon’s dedication and hands-on expertise, was quick to approve his application. And so, at just 19 years old, Simon became an officially certified mason, accredited by the NCA!

His certification unlocks opportunities to take part in larger, more influential projects in the construction industry.
